Meet Robert and Sarah

Both disabled veterans whose service dogs have supported them through incredible challenges. Now, they’ve found a new passion: working the land and learning new skills as farmers.

In this chapter of life, they’ve discovered joy and purpose in the simple things—caring for chickens and watching their funny antics, bottle-feeding baby goats and calves, and reconnecting with the rhythm of nature. It’s their own little slice of heaven.

For Sarah, one of the greatest joys is feeding treats to the animals and watching them come running to her, recognizing her as a friend. Staying active and connected to the animals helps her manage the daily struggles of depression, anxiety, and PTSD—keeping both her hands and her mind busy in the most meaningful way.

Your support helps make this peaceful, healing lifestyle possible for veterans like Robert and Sarah.

Muscovy Ducks

This breed is thought to be more closely related to a goose than a duck. They are said to have the best tasting lean meat. They lay 3-4 clutches a year with 8-15 eggs each time. They are friendly and even wag their tail feathers in happiness when they see people they know and like. The eggs are very tasty.

Double Breasted White Turkeys

This is the most widely commercially bred turkey due to its high meat production. They grow extremely rapidly adding to their value.

California Rabbits

This breed was developed in California in the early 1900’s specifically for their meat and soft fur. They average 7-10 pounds.

New Zealand Rabbits

Despite the name, this breed was also developed in California for their meat and pelts. They average 9-12 pounds.
